As part of the initiative, Max Bupa also gave a preview of a website, www.YourHealthFirst.in, which will enable the people to keep their promises for loved ones by actionable tips, health advice and health information.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Damien Marmion, CEO, Max Bupa said, "In our everyday busy lives, we often neglect our health care needs while striving to achieve material success. We at Max Bupa believe it is our responsibility to promote the idea of living healthy among Indians at large. In order to achieve this, Max Bupa has launched a health movement - ‘Health Promise’, which will enable people to give priority to their health first and at the same time encourage them to make a health promise for their loved ones. He added, "This idea is backed by the study we conducted on the insights on people’s attitude and perceptions on chronic diseases. According to the Bupa Pulse Study, in India, 40 per cent of people are unhealthy and almost 1 out of every 10 is obese. A major concern being the lack of time or spending time in remaining healthy. Feeling good and self reliance are key triggers of a healthy lifestyle, thus attitudes towards health impacts perception about yourself and your partner’s health equally. Since, we help our customers keep their ‘health’ first, these findings were intriguing enough for us to create a platform where people take the promise for their loved ones and we help them achieve it."
The movement was endorsed by renowned fashion designers Manish Malhotra and Rina Dhaka who talked about the importance of health. They also joined the Health Promise Movement by making a health promise along with Dr. Damien Marmion.
Shefali Chhachhi, Director Marketing Max Bupa, spoke about the campaign "Max Bupa wants to help people put their health first and be their health partners for life helping them live healthier and more successful lives. Through this initiative we want people to take the first step towards being healthy by stating their health concern for their loved ones and we will help them in addressing these concerns, by providing them expert advice and access to quality healthcare."
